Everything else Pokemon!!! Aka you thought this could be contained to a page?
Originally, I was just going to make a singular page for Pokemon and leave it at that, but I am weak. I cannot contain all of my adoration for this series in a singular page, lest my mortal vessal explode :P
Why Pokemon?
I've been a fan of pokemon for nearly my entire life at this point. I remeber being a small child and seeing an episode of indigo league on my brother's TV for the first time. I still vividly remember the image of nurse Joy and her Chansey healing ash's pokemon. It was at that point that it captured my brain in a way I'd never escape. Soon after, there was a fast food place giving out special cards with kids meals. So I started collecting. My very first card actually wasn't those kids meal ones though. A boy I was friends with in elementary school wanted to play out battles but noticed I didn't have any cards to play with. He gave me a choice between a few of them, but the one I chose was Clefairy. I still have the card, its Neo Genesis 30 :3
My childhood card binder is something very precious to me. I lost it for a couple years, but found it this summer and I've decided to leave it as is. It's a cute time capsule to how I worked as a child. I don't want to ruin it with my modern organization standards. My modern card binder is a 2" meowscarada 3-ring thats filled to the brim with cards. Most of them are bulk box cards I bought at the local card shops for like 10 cents each :D I dont collect for value or deck building purposes. I collect what makes me happy, and that includes a lot of silly bulk cards with cute art. My prized sections include my 2 page clefairy spread, and my Seismitoad page :3 (plus my few fairy type cards I could find)
My history with the games is a little more slow burn romance than the love at first sight for cards and anime. My very first pokemon game was Omega Ruby on my 3DS. I only got 2 or so gyms into the game before some life shit happened and I couldn't bring myself to play anymore. That was pretty much it when it came to my game play journey for quite a few years. Until sword and shield. The game was hella controverial (especially bc of dexit -_-) but it brought me something I wasn't able to enjoy for years prior. I spent a lot of hours on that game, nealy 90 hours not including my ongoing replay. The graphics, the characters, the simple map layout, all of it let me fall in love with pokemon as a video game. I used to be intimidated by the map layout of Ruby, but the linear nature of Shield made it much easier for me to navigate. One of my favorite characters to come out of shield was definately Marnie. I was 13 when it came out, and had the biggest crush on her ngl XD My current desk mat is acutally the official Marnie card mat!!!
